Meetings

The Albuquerque Chapter of the American Recorder Society meets from 7:15-9:15 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. We play masterpieces of Renaissance music by composers both famous and obscure. Over the summer, we played works by Orlando di Lasso, Andrea Gabrieli, Tomas Luis de Victoria and others.

Our meetings offer an opportunity for players of all skill levels to learn, improve and meet others who share a passion for the recorder and early music. Most of us are recorder players, but other early instruments are most welcome. All levels play in a single large group.

This season, we will meet with skilled, professional directors in October and November and from January through April. December and May meetings feature small group performances by our own members. During the summer, June through September, we meet informally without a conductor. We may not meet due to schedule conflicts such as holidays or church events. If you are attending for the first time please check in first with an officer.

Meetings are held in room 407 of the Adult Education Building at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located on the SE corner of Academy and Moon and Albuquerque.
